Are you someone who is mad about sport? No, not just someone who aspires to be a professional athlete, to play for the Springboks, or to represent South Africa in a national team, but also someone who watches sport of any kind, supports a sports team or individual athletes, or who is or would like to be active in the management of sport or to participate on a social or recreational basis?
If so, then the University of Johannesburg - and in particular the University of Johannesburg Sport - is looking for you!
The University of Johannesburg Sport will provide an opportunity for you to be involved in various sports-related activities, firstly, to qualify formally for one of the sectors of the sports industry. A variety of programmes exists such as Sport Management, Sport Science, Sport Psychology, Sport Communication, Sport Development and Biokinetics.
Secondly, if your interest is to participate actively in sport, the University of Johannesburg Sport will provide opportunities for you to participate at a social-recreational, competitive and high performance level. Here you will have the opportunity to participate in one or more of 32 sporting categories depending on your interest, need and ability. You will even have the opportunity to be involved in the organising and management of sport.
Lastly but surely but not least, the University of Johannesburg Sport will provide you – depending on the campus - with access to a gymnasium, to scientific services to improve your sport performance, or to assist in the rehabilitation of any sports injuries you may have sustained.
At the University of Johannesburg we are a sporting family.
